Montenegro is a small country in southeast Europe, in the west of Balkans peninsula.

In this tour package „Gorbis Travel“ agency combines together wonderful cities at seaside with cruising along the largest lake of Balkans – Skadar lake, and rafting down the Tara river - „Tear of Europe“.

Day 1

After the arrival, from Airport terminal you will be escorted to the waiting coach. Drive to hotel in Budva. Check-in in Hotel Avala Resort&Villas  4 stars or 5 stars hotel Splendid Conference & Spa Resort . Budva, often called as “the pearl of the Mediterranean”,  and well known for its sandy beaches. Apart from its natural beauty, its bay islands and beaches, Budva is rich in historic monuments, as well. The Old town lies on a small peninsula and represents a treasure chest of culture heritage.  Crossed with narrow streets and squares are famous buildings, the Church St. Trinity, housing the tomb of the exquisite writer Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa, the Churches of St. Ivan, and St. Sava.  Free time for independent sightseeing. Overnight.

 

Day2

After breakfast,  you will depart toCetinje, where you will enjoy in exterior visit of the old Royal Court of King Nikola in its magnificent glamour, now transformed into a national museum. Not far away from the museum is the medieval Cetinje Monastery which, among other relics, treasures the right hand of Saint John the Baptist.

After Cetinje you will drive to Njegusi. In this small village you will have a lunch and taste typical Montenegrin homemade food in one of the local taverns. Following that, the fascinating 25-serpentine road will take us from the altitude of 900m to 0, where you will find Kotor, a medieval town of thousand pearls. You will make a walking tour of the Old Town of Kotor, entering from the Sea Gate and enjoying Kotor’s narrow streets and small compact squares that preserve secrets from the Venetian time, confined in the 4,5km fortification built form IX to XIX century. You will have exterior visit of maybe the most beautiful cultural monument not only in Kotor but also in the surroundings - the basilica St. Tryphon, with impressive architecture from 1166.

After a free time in Kotor and short ride you will visit Perast, a magnificent baroque town form XV century, where you will visit a miniature manmade islet with the church Our Lady of the Rocks. The islet was made by seamen who, after finding an icon of the Virgin, protector of sailors and fishermen on one little rock only a meter above the surface, made a vow to build an islet by throwing the rocks into the bay. You can assume how long it took them to do it since this “throwing of the rocks’’, now famous as a festival ‘’Fasinada’’, started in 1452. The church on the islet is now a famous place for weddings and a beautiful museum.

After guided tour and some free time you will depart back to hotel in Budva. Overnight.

 

Day 3

After breakfast you will depart in direction of  National park Skadar Lake, which is the biggest in the Balkans, and full of stormy history marks that represent a valuable cultural heritage. It is the biggest reservation of birds in Europe and the last habitat of pelicans. You will visit Virpazar, a small fishing village, where you will embark a boat for panoramic ride. During the boat cruise along the lake, you have opportunity to see its jugged coastline with numerous bays, coves and islands, as well as tasting some of local homemade snacks and drinks .You will have an incredible experience of seeing the picturesque flora and fauna that can be experienced only in this area. Return to Budva. Overnight.

 

Day 4

After breakfast your coach will drive you towards Scepan Polje. The road leads to the continental part of the country passing through a fascinating mountain landscape.

Ravines, huge obstacles, abysses and rapids, steep riverside with hundreds of years old forest, are just a part of décor of second biggest in the world canyon, 82 km long, and at some places 1300m deep. Rafting down clean mountain river Tara surrounded by nature and Montenegrin food will assure you that water attractions of most famous fun parks are just a pale simulation of that what nature can make.

Having arrived to the rafting area, you will see that it is the most attractive part of the Tara River with its rapids and waterfalls. Its water is even drinkable. The Tara canyon is the longest and deepest in Europe . As such it is under the protection of UNESCO, as a part of the world's natural heritage. In the world, only the Colorado River's canyon is bigger than the Tara 's one.

You will enjoy in tasting local snacks before taking the equipment and getting safety briefing.

While the experienced rafters are steering the boats, descending down the rapids of the Tara, you will admire  the beauty of wild nature around you. There are short breaks during the rafting time for taking swims and photos.

After experiencing the fun of rafting, lunch is organised at the Camp. Return to Budva. Overnight.

 

Day 5

Breakfast. Check-out. Free Time. Transfer to Airport. End of program.
